Since November 2021, Scott Tanner has occupied the role of Executive Chairman at Kay & Burton. Scott is a highly regarded and respected Melbourne business leader with over 25 years of experience in the banking and financial services industries.

In addition to his position with Kay & Burton, Scott currently serves as Chairman of the Committee for Melbourne, a member organisation that, for more than 30 years, has contributed policy suggestions and driven initiatives to ensure Melbourne continues to be a great city in which to live and conduct business; Chairman of GrowthOps, a creative, digital-marketing/tech and leadership-coaching accreditation company with a mission to reinvent the way organisations grow; and Chairman of NEEON, a new start-up in the B2B2B banking-as-a-service space. Scott is also the Managing Director of SMT Advisory Services, a corporate advisory business he founded in 2018. Scott holds several other Directorships and is a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Company Directors. Scott was previously the Chief Executive of Bank of Melbourne, a bank that he and his team relaunched to Victorians in 2011 and grew its market share in Victoria to 7.5% over six years. Prior to that Scott was a Director of Bain & Company, a leading global strategy consulting firm.

His experience is characterised by both breadth and depth and spans digital transformations, company turnarounds, M&A and growth strategies in banking, wealth management, insurance, retail and professional services. His formal educational background includes an MBA from the Melbourne Business School and a Bachelor of Applied Science, Mathematics, from RMIT.
