Much ado about Sorrento

There is a noticeable buzz in Sorrento.

It’s been a hive of activity during the cooler months and the transformation of some of the coastal town’s historic buildings and businesses has now been revealed.

This traditional summer destination has emerged as an all-year-round hot spot, with locals and visitors flocking to experience the revival of three Sorrento icons.

Audrey’s at The Continental Sorrento

The return of The Continental Sorrento has been years in the making and it’s been worth the wait.

Described as a premier lifestyle precinct, the hotel was designed and re-built to respectfully fuse heritage and modern luxury.

Dating back to 1875, ‘The Conti’ boasts luxury accommodation by the Intercontinental Hotel Group, state of the art wellness facilities by Aurora and a plethora of dining options.

Headlining the culinary experience is Audrey’s, an elevated dining experience with a seafood-led menu, by acclaimed Melbourne chef Scott Pickett.

A tribute to his grandmother, who instilled his passion for cooking, Pickett brings another world-class restaurant to the Mornington Peninsula.

Marrying nostalgic beachside charm with refined sophistication, the restaurant pays homage to the sea both in location and its extraordinary menu.

The dining room offers a seasonal degustation featuring an inspired selection of delectable dishes with a focus on ingredients from the ocean, along with a 3-course option on selected weekdays.

To complement the menu, a much-lauded wine list has been curated by Head Sommelier Andrew Murch.

To indulge the senses, reserve your table at Audrey’s at The Continental Sorrento, 1-21 Ocean Beach Road, Sorrento.

Stringers Sorrento

Founded in 1896, Sorrento’s prominent corner store has taken on a new lease of life. The all-day restaurant, bar and gourmet delicatessen has a sleek, yet warm Mediterranean atmosphere, which cleverly maintains its historic roots.

Reimagined by the Darling Group of Kettle Black, Top Paddock and Higher Ground fame, the seaside venture is open from 7am until late, offering a menu inspired by Italian flavours and highlighting local Mornington Peninsula produce.

Currently serving breakfast and lunch, Stringers will evolve to include an oyster and champagne bar as well as a dinner menu.

The showstopper is perhaps the sun-drenched courtyard – the perfect year-round spot to relax and enjoy the sunset while sipping a drink or two.

Stringers Sorrento is located at 2-8 Ocean Beach Road, Sorrento.
